Spirit Week Concludes With Unified Basketball Game High School Spirit Week concluded on Friday, February 23, with a basketball game between the ConVal Unified and a faculty team. The game was tied for a long time, then Unified pulled away in the third quarter and won with a final score of 50-41. MacDowell Video Artist Engages With Students MacDowell artist-in-residence Kristen Mills is a video and installation artist who lives in Upstate New York. She spoke in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre to students in the art and aesthetics & ideas classes, then showcased some of her work, including "Waiting Room." Book Club Discusses "The Stranger In The Woods" On February 20, the ConVal librarians hosted the second ConVal High School-Peterborough Town Library book club meeting during TASC. The book they discussed is Michael Finkel’s "The Stranger In The Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit." Chamber Choir Rehearses "From Now On" On Monday, February 19, choral music teacher Brian Moore rehearsed with the Chamber Choir "From Now On," a song from the 2017 movie "The Greatest Showman." The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.
